We LOVED our tour of Pisa, the winery, and Florence. Was one of the highlight days of our cruise. Sabina was a great tour guide and really made the trip memorable. She was sensitive to our desires, and made the trip very memorable.
Based upon our discussions with fellow passengers, our tour turned out better than the one offered by the ship. It was definitely an advantage to traveling by car rather than a tour bus--Sabina could get us much closer to the attractions.
We hope to get back to Italy soon, and we will be sure to look you up for tours in the future.

May I give you some comments about our tour with you in Florence. All the members of our party thought the experience was excellent. It was everything you promised. Our guide Eun (I am probably not spelling this correctly) was charming and knowledgeable. He took us to all the places we hoped to see in the time we had to do it, and got us back to Livorno in good time to get back on ship. His recommendation for lunch was a good choice. Both the food and service there were good.
We wouldn't hesitate to use your company in the future, and to tell others who might be in Italy on cruise to contact you.

Thanks for your email. I’ve been meaning to send a quick email to you, and just hadn’t gotten to it yet.
We were absolutely thrilled with the service your company provides and I don’t have a single complaint. Roberto was an excellent driver/guide, and we’d certainly be happy to recommend him/Papillon to anyone. I’ll be sure to do that on the cruise boards as well. We were a group with ages ranging from early 30s to 80s, and everyone enjoyed the tour a great deal and commented on how pleasant they thought Roberto was. He also shared lots of interesting information with us, and we enjoyed the stops we made – including the restaurant he recommended for us. If I’m in the area again, and I’m hoping I will be, I would definitely use your company again.

Hi Lina,
we had a great time with Mafalda as our driver for the day in Florence. Everything went very smoothly, she was a great driver. She helped get the tickets that were pre-arranged at the Leaning Tower of Pisa, and she also helped u sto get into the Academy Museum without a long wait. The Vineyard that we went to in Tuscany was absolutely my favourite part of the tour. Thank you so much for allo f your assistance!

Just a short note to thank you for your services during our recent visit to Italy. We found Luca to be a very informative and knowledgeable guide, especially in Rome and the guide he arranged for us in Pompeii was outstanding. The restaurant he took us to for lunch, Trattoria La Tagliata, overlooking Positano, was the highlight of our visit. Everyone in my family raved about the food and it was probably the best Italian dinner we’ve ever had. Roberto & Adela were equally helpful during our visit to Florence and made sure we got to see what we wanted. Once more the lunch recommendation was excellent. We would not hesitate to use your services again when we return to Italy and would recommend you to anyone who asks.

We thought you should know our excursion in Rome was execptional! We got to see all of the requested sites and then some. Our driver, Ivano, could not have been a better guide. Ciao Lina!

I was writing to tell you how much we enjoyed our tour of Florence and Lucca in May. We were a little worried about doing such a busy tour on a tight schedule out of La Spezia, but our driver Lisa perfectly understood the situation and was able to keep us on track to see both cities while at the same time never making us feel rushed. She was there waiting for us at the pier, had all of our museum reservations in order, and met every question and request with enthusiasm! She really helped us enjoy the tour. We really appreciated how she adapted the tour midway through so we could spend more time having a leisurely drive through the countryside rather than spend the additional time on the autostrada. The van was also very comfortable and clean and the carseat for our 2-year old worked perfectly! Thank you again for the great service. Our entire family had a great day in Tuscany!

Hi Lina,

On April 17, 2009, your driver/guide Roberto met us at the dock in Livorno for a wonderful day in the Tuscany area. There were six of us (grandparents, daughter, son-in-law, and two teen aged grandchildren). We visited Pisa, drove to a delightful winery at Fattoria San Michele a Torri, and then were on to Florence, our second visit but Roberto was so delightful that it may as well have been our first. We will certainly recommend Papillon Service to all who visit your area. Our tour was far superior to any offered by our cruise line.

our experience with your company was excellent. Your flexibility in accommodating our requests allowed us to create a custom tour that perfectly met our needs. We spent a spectacular day in Montalcino, enjoyed some great scenery, people, food and wine. It really doesn't get much better than that. Roberto, our driver, was waiting for us when we left the ship and we were on our way immediately. He was helpful in giving us some local knowledge as we drove to Montalcino. When we had a little extra time at the end, we went into town and did a little more wine shopping. Roberto was very patient and accommodating. We arrived back at the ship right on time. Overall our experience was outstanding and I have already recommended your services to friends here in Canada.

Our trip to Florence last summer was the highlight of our holiday. The service provided by your company was excellent. Your driver Roberto was waiting for us on the Quay, the vehicle was clean and tidy and very comfortable. Roberto was very friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome, his local knowledge was extensive. Our guide in Florence was excellent, his knowledge of art and history was extensive and he was very enthusiastic, he made our tour interesting and informative.

Hello Lina,
we were entirely satisfied with your service in April 2008 when your driver, Roberto, took us from the ship - first to Pisa and then to Lucca. At the time I was having a lot of back pain. However, I found the car comfortable and the driver was very careful to make sure that I had to do as little walking as possible. He was very knowledgeable about the history of the area.
Because we had our own driver, we beat the crowds to Pisa. This meant that we did not haveto stand in long lines, which I particularly appreciated. Lucca was not saturated with tourists and we had a lovely time there, including having lunch in a local restaurant.
By then I was exhausted and we met our driver who took us back to the ship.
It was a lovely day.

Dear Lina,
the advantage a local company has over cuise tours is the individual service and smaller airconditioned vehicles can get you into the heart of Florence whereas coaches have to drop you further out and there can be a lot of walking. Raoul was our driver. Couldn’t be missed, wore a pink blazer, but it was smart. Full details of the trip were confirmed verbally before we started off. This avoids misunderstandings. He waited patiently for us in Pisa even though we were late back to the car. Florence is Raoul’s home town, and you can tell the pride he has in it and his passion said it all. He drove us to a little family backstreet café called Osteria De Pazzi where we had a delightful 2 course lunch for €33 including wine and beer. Whoever reads this should accept our recommendation. At Santa Croce we met foot weary shipmates on their tour, they were shattered while we stopped for a pint of nectar in the Irish pub in the square, but hey that was what going private is all about! Papillon were the most inexpensive we could find, which also included a boxed gift of Tuscan wine and biscuits. Raoul could speak English, Spanish and French as well as Italian. We felt like we had known him years within a very short time and believe we also made a friend.

Our Papillon tour of Rome was excellent-perfecto!
Our guide/driver Paolo was very professional and friendly. I and my family had a good time with him. We visited all the sites we wanted to, and then some. Paolo showed us some of his favourite buildings and sites also. Of all of the eight ports of call on our cruise, my family voted Rome the best, thanks to him and to the "eternal city". I just wanted to thank you for making all the arrangements for our Tuscany trip. Roberto was very professional and took care of us. We enjoyed the sights and restaurants he suggested. The car was very cool and comfortable. We had a wonderful time, but all agreed we would have liked more time at many of our stops. Good thing you suggested an extra hour each day. We wanted to wade into the surf at Monterosso and climb the tower in Siena. Perhaps next time.

Hey Lina,
just wanted you to know, we are back from our 14 day, 12 port cruise and the service provided by Papillon and Sabrina was the highlight of our trip. Still amazed of how she was able to negotiate the narrow streets of Florence, and the sandwich place she suggested for lunch was the best wine and sandwich we had on the whole trip. Felt even better that it only cost a few Euros. Certainly you were right, it would have been great to have more time to see more of Florence, but Sabrina was still able to get us a lot more places than the cruise ship's bus tour was able to get to, and they had a full day to try to do that. You throw in our Toscana Wine tour and conclude it with a visit to Pisa, couldn't have made us happier. All for half the cost of the ship tour. We made life long friends on this cruise, and all started with this Florence/Chianti Vineyard/Pisa tour. So thanks again and please pass on our apprecation to Sabrina.

Just thought Id drop you a line to give you a report on our trip with Papillon !
Firstly sorry we not able to make the trip from Livorno to Florence and Pisa – apparently a huge oil tanker was stuck in the berth for the Navigator meaning we had to go to La Specia – RCCL then transported us to Pisa so we managed the Tower !
Rome – 4th Aug – what a great day we had – first class transport and out guide Oana was superb – a fountain of knowledge and a great person to spend a day in Rome with – she was so knowledgeable she made it a really unforgettable day- I will e mail her to say thanks but she was a tremendous help !
I shall let my travel agent know of your e mail address as you were much cheaper than the tours offered on board ship and speaking to other passengers we had a much better experience !- maybe they will recommend you to other passengers !
I’m sure we will be cruising again and would definitely use your services again

A quick note of thanks for the wonderful service we received in Florence.
Lisa, our driver, was terrific.
She did an excellent job of showing us the city and getting us to where we needed to be on time and in comfort. The guide, Maddalena, was fabulous as well.
She was full of great knowledge and information and we all enjoyed her descriptions of the art in Florence.
Of the three private tours we booked in Italy during our trip there, this one was the best.
